Senior Forest and Fire Engagement Officer

The Senior Forest and Fire Engagement Officer partners with District and Regional teams to identify and prioritise engagement needs that support forest and fire program planning and delivery.
As the successful candidate, you will lead the development of place‑based engagement and communication tools in the Far South West, with a strong focus on the annual Joint Fuel Management Program, Operational Forest Management Program and other forest and fire management works.
The position requires sound knowledge of engagement principles and practices, experience in engagement planning, and the ability to apply contemporary engagement frameworks.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Qualifications and/or expertise related to stakeholder and community engagement is desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying the IAP2 spectrum of public participation is desirable.
This is a fixed-term position available until 28 May 2027. The work location for this position is preferred within the Far South West district to support place-based engagement deliverables but negotiable within BSW region. Hybrid work arrangements available.
