Bring your technical expertise and relevant tools in environmental values analysis and modelling to support meaningful input to regional operational plans.

As the Senior Biodiversity Officer, you will support biodiversity values assessments across strategic, operational and tactical forest and fire management plans as well as supporting regional risk analysis and modelling of biodiversity values.  This is an exciting role that will also work with a diverse range of internal and external teams at state, cross-regional and local levels.

On offer is a job share arrangement as a Senior Biodiversity Officer across the Barwon South West Region, part-time through to the end of May 2026.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Biological Sciences or Natural Resource Management or commensurate experience (desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience in program management with emphasis on biodiversity, threatened species and communities.
  • GIS and computer modelling skills are essential.

This is a fixed term part time position available until 30 May 2026. The work location for this position is flexible within Barwon South West Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
