The Project Support Officer supports the delivery of statutory approvals and associated governance processes under public land legislation. The role undertakes land status research, determines land status and tenure to support sound decision-making, and applies knowledge of the public land legislative framework to interpret and apply legislation and policy. The role coordinates the preparation of high-quality instruments and advice, including Ministerial briefs, Executive Council memoranda and Orders in Council documentation. The position requires effective coordination across multiple matters, strong attention to detail, accurate record keeping and database management, and the ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role suits a motivated person who enjoys managing competing priorities and produces clear, timely and well‑reasoned written outputs.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Desirable ​

  • Demonstrated experience in statutory approvals or public land administration, and/or tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g., law, environmental management, planning or public administration).​
  • Sound knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, Victoria’s public land legislative and policy framework, with demonstrated capability in land status research and determining land status and tenure concepts.​
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, accurate and well-structured written products (e.g., briefs, correspondence and approval documentation) with strong attention to detail and record keeping.​

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
