Step into a high-impact leadership role and drive the planning and delivery of critical forest and fire management works across Gippsland. We’re seeking someone with a genuine passion for Gippsland’s forests and a strong interest in the positive impact of the work delivered by Forest and Fire Operations. In this 8‑month opportunity, you will lead the design and coordination of complex, large-scale forest and fuel management programs that directly protect communities, environments, and key assets. You’ll bring teams together, influence key decisions, and deliver tangible outcomes in a purposeful, collaborative environment, while deepening your experience in strategic program leadership, stakeholder engagement, and emergency management.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Knowledge of operational delivery of forest management programs/services
- Tertiary qualifications in natural resource or environmental management, or public policy (desirable)
- Experience working with planning systems including FMS, eMAP and ArcGIS (or similar)
This is a fixed term position available until 02 April 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within the Gippsland region with hybrid work arrangements available.
