The Forest and Fire Operations Team is seeking a District Manager for the Murray Goldfields District. This senior leadership role is critical in overseeing forest and fire management across public land. As District Manager, you will lead strategic and operational priorities and oversee the delivery of land and fire management services across the district. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with experience in natural resource management and the ability to manage people and resources effectively in a complex environment. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on Victoria’s environment and communities while leading a dedicated team in a collaborative and supportive workplace.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong understanding and successful application of the key principles of leadership.
- Demonstrated strong understanding and successful application of stakeholder and community engagement.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a dispersed workforce across a range of functions, particularly in the areas of natural resource and emergency management.
- Sound technical knowledge and demonstrated background in coordination of integrated land management practices, including strategic planning and delivery of operational programs, with a focus on forest / public land management and associated emergency response coordination.
- Sound knowledge of state government processes and policies.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Bendigo with hybrid work arrangements available.
