District Forest and Fire Planning Officer - Ovens

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Ovens District Forest and Fire Planning team. Individuals who enjoy working as a team, problem solving and demonstrate strong work ethic will be well suited to this position.

The District Forest & Fire Planning Officer role will see you undertake a mix of field based and office based work to plan, prepare and deliver Fuel Management, Forest Management, Recreation Management and Road Management works throughout the Ovens District. 

This is an opportunity to join an enthusiastic team which is committed to the safe, effective, and sustainable management of Victoria’s public land and will also provide opportunities to contribute to emergency response and planned burn program delivery.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A broad knowledge and/or relevant experience in the planning and delivery of fuel, road, track, recreation and environmental asset maintenance and improvement programs is desirable.
  • Contractor management skills including the ability to manage procurement is desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Ovens, Victoria.
