The Coordinator Acquisitions is responsible for leading the delivery of public land acquisition programs by ensuring a co-ordinated approach, providing expert advice, delivering complex transactions, and contributing to policy and operational improvements. The role project manages the delivery of significant election commitments and other government priorities and departmental objectives, considering liabilities, opportunities often within the planning space. The role works collaboratively across teams and with stakeholders to ensure acquisition activities are timely, compliant, efficient and demonstrate adequate consideration of landowner needs.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in land management, property, law, public policy, or a related field are desirable, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in public land policy and administration including land acquisition with a sound understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks including Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978 and demonstrated experience in the implementation of complex land acquisitions, public land property dealings and projects.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
