This influential position is part of a friendly and dynamic team in the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Energy. It supports high-profile and varied governance tasks, coordination activities, and stakeholder consultation to lead and assist in the development of integrated energy policy, and to influence other whole-of-government priorities.
This role will:
- Provide support to the Minister and senior executives on interdepartmental or inter-governmental policy development and processes, including coordination of government responses, and synthesising advice and feedback.
- Draft and coordinate general Energy advice and information, in briefings, presentations, and annotated agendas, for audiences including Ministers, DEECA Executives and other parts of government.
- Provide strategic advice and secretariat support for a range of critical internal energy governance forums, including liaising with senior internal stakeholders.
- Support integrated policy development and coordination of advice across Energy Group and DEECA. Proactively identify linkages between initiatives and opportunities, and prompt action to realise mutual benefits.
- Build and maintain productive networks within DEECA to generate intelligence and expedite coordinated responses to requests from senior executives and Minister, as required.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification for working in public policy and/or governance would be desirable.
- Experience in interpreting energy policy and programs, or the energy sector, would be beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience or understanding of government processes are essential.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 24 Months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
