This role sits at the centre of how Victoria reduces bushfire risk - shaping the systems, policies and partnerships that protect people, property and the environment.
The Senior Project Officer - Safer Together will lead delivery of the Victorian Government's flagship Safer Together program within the Department of Energy, Environment Climate Action, working across government, agencies and communities to ensure efforts to reduce bushfire risk are aligned and delivering real impact for Victorian communities.
We are looking for someone with skills and experience in managing program budgets, governance and project management, who can show sound judgment and build effective working relationships. Experience with complex multi-agency programs is essential, and knowledge of bushfire risk management is highly desirable.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification(s) in science, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, business management or similar is desirable.
- Experience leading complex multi-agency programs with substantial operating budgets is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with bushfire risk management is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
