Senior Project Manager, Digital

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects within the Digital Program in accordance with DEECA’s ICT project delivery standards. This includes leading the end-to-end delivery of digital solutions such including customer-facing platforms, and other ICT initiatives that drive departmental outcomes. The Project Manager will establish and manage the project or program objectives; define the project/program plan and identify and manage resources, requirements, scope and risk. 

Key to success in this role is excellent consultancy & stakeholder management skills, a strong commitment to user-centred outcomes, and the ability to translate strategic goals into practical project delivery.  The role requires a commitment to building strong, collaborative and productive working relationships within the team and across a variety of stakeholders within the Department, other government Departments and Agencies, community groups and vendors.

The Project Manager may be required to support new or additional projects within the ISD portfolio over time. This will be based on business priorities and in agreement with the Director, Project Delivery and the Program Director ICT Strategic Programs.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Significant ICT project delivery experience is highly desirable, with demonstrated completion of large/complex ICT projects (typically greater than 12 months, multiple external stakeholders, medium-large team; budgets $1m+) and proven financial management skill set.
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of project delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Iterative and Waterfall and the ability to select the appropriate approach based on project context
  • Relevant formal qualifications in project and / or program management will be highly regarded.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
