The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to deliver end-to-end procurement services that support Bushfire and Forest Services operations across Victoria.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team responsible for ensuring procurement activities are compliant, timely and aligned with operational readiness and emergency management requirements. You will work across a diverse range of procurement projects, partnering with operational teams, technical specialists and suppliers to deliver procurement outcomes that support critical assets, logistics, infrastructure and emergency response capability.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will provide expert procurement advice, manage multiple concurrent sourcing activities and help strengthen procurement governance and capability across the organisation. You will also supervise and develop one direct report while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement performance and service delivery.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in procurement, commerce, business, law, contract management or a related discipline (desirable). 
  • Professional accreditation in procurement and/or contract management (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) (desirable). 
  • Significant demonstrated experience and a successful track record delivering end-to-end procurements in a complex environment, including successfully applying Victorian Government procurement policies and processes.
  • Proven high level written and verbal communication capabilities
  • Forklift license may be required 
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Victoria are required

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Altona North, with hybrid work arrangements available.
