The Senior Policy Officer is an exciting position that is focused on the water resource aspects of Victoria’s clean energy transition. In addition to supporting other activities across a small team, your primary focus will be delivering projects and providing policy advice that support water access for the clean energy transition within Victoria’s water sharing framework. Your work will involve creative thinking and problem solving, good communication skills for preparing briefings and correspondence for Ministers and executives. You’ll be working with a range of stakeholders and seeking to influence and negotiate with teams across DEECA, industry and other stakeholders to support water access pathways.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering, law, natural resource management or other relevant disciplines that relate to water resource management is highly desirable.
- Previous water sector experience would be an advantage, along with an ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.
This is a fixed term position until 12 February 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St, Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
