As a Senior Policy Officer, you will:
- Lead policy, legislative and regulatory reform projects
- Provide expert advice on energy safety and governance
- Engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community
- Represent DEECA at key forums and national meetings
About You
We’re looking for someone who can think strategically and deliver results. You will have:
- Strong experience in policy development and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to interpret legislation and technical information
- Knowledge of the Victorian energy sector (desirable)
- A tertiary qualification in energy, public policy, or related field (preferred)

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary qualification for working in energy management, natural resource, public policy and/or governance would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and analysing legislation, policy and technical information, to translate and communicate effectively for varied audiences would be desirable.
- Understanding of the Victorian energy sector including the frameworks governing electricity, solar and gas networks would be desirable.
This is a fixed term position available until 12 October 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
