Senior Policy Officer - Climate Change

The Senior Policy Officer will provide timely, evidence-based strategic policy advice to the Director, and to the Minister, Secretary and the DEECA Executive on a range of climate change and agriculture policy issues, particularly in relation to emissions reduction. This will involve advice and program delivery under the Agriculture Sector Emissions Reduction Pledge, supporting the Victorian Agriculture and Climate Change Council and supporting Victoria’s collaboration with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions. There will also be opportunities to work across other areas of Agriculture Policy and Programs to address urgent and emerging issues as expected in an agile work environment. The successful candidate will also need to display a ‘can-do’ attitude and actively contribute to developing a culture of excellence, responsiveness and flexibility.

 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary degree would be well regarded.

This is a fixed term position available until February 2027 (parental leave cover). The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
