Resources Victoria is seeking a highly motivated Senior Legislation Officer to join our Legislation Reform team. This ongoing role offers a chance to contribute to meaningful legislative reform that supports Victoria’s transition to a sustainable and responsible earth resources sector.

We’re looking for someone with:
- Expertise in legislative and policy development, with a strong grasp of regulatory frameworks and government processes.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, capable of building trusted relationships across diverse groups.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and support the development and reform of legislation governing Victoria’s earth resources sector.
- Provide authoritative policy advice to senior executives and the Minister.
- Collaborate across government, industry, Traditional Owners and the community to ensure reforms are inclusive, informed, and effectively implemented.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the processes that guide how legislation, regulations and statutory appointments are made in Victoria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing complex policy briefs, letter, emails and reports.
- A tertiary qualification in natural resource management, economics, law, planning and environment, public policy or other relevant fields would be advantageous.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
