As a Research Scientist, you’ll work across the field, glasshouse and laboratory to deliver industry‑funded research projects that improve crop health and production. You’ll design and run experiments, analyse results, and share insights with both scientific and industry audiences. Working as part of a collaborative national network of pathologists, breeders and agronomists, you’ll enjoy diverse work, strong team support, and flexible working arrangements. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications: A degree in Agricultural Science, Science, Natural Resource Management, or an equivalent science qualification is required.
  • Science Research Expertise: Ability to design, implement, and analyse field-based crop research experiments to generate new knowledge and develop disease management strategies for field crops.
  • Field Crops Disease knowledge: Understanding of major diseases affecting field crops and the application of control measures within dryland agricultural systems.
  • Plant Pathology Technical expertise: Expertise in the identification of plant pathogens and the application of epidemiological principles to experimental design and disease management research.
  • Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication skills to present research outcomes effectively to industry stakeholders and scientific audiences through presentations, workshops, and technical reports.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is Horsham with hybrid work arrangements available.
