The Regions, Environment, Climate Action, and First Peoples Group (RECAFP) is the home of DEECA’s expertise on climate action, the circular economy, environment protection and the management of natural and built assets on public land across Victoria.  DEECA Regions Division enables government priorities by delivering integrated, place-based programs, projects and regional services to stakeholders and community on behalf of DEECA.  The Office of the Executive Director DEECA Regions leads the strategic and systems uplift required to strengthen DEECA’s placed-based model for DEECA, driving improvements to locally based decision making and regional service delivery to the community across the breadth of DEECA’s portfolios.

The Project Officer is located within a multi-disciplinary team within the Office of the Executive Director DEECA Regions. The role provides expert advice, information and services to develop, coordinate and deliver complex projects in support of priorities across DEECA Regions Division, with a particular focus on corporate planning and performance functions, workforce, financial management, business analytics, governance and coordination.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Desirable

  • Qualification and/or experience in human resource management
  • Experience in coordination and delivery of corporate functions and services
  • Experience contributing to strategic projects that improve systems, processes and communications
  • Knowledge of the regional context and opportunities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, SharePoint), with demonstrated experience in data management, analysis and reporting

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
