The Victorian Governments container deposit scheme rewards Victorians with a 10 cent refund for every eligible can, carton and bottle they return. The scheme provides shared benefits to the community, environment and economy by delivering more and better recycling, less waste and less litter.
Recycling Victoria is responsible for the scheme’s oversight, administration and regulation.
The Project Officer will provide program support to the Container Deposit Scheme team including, but not limited to drafting briefs, responding to correspondence, project planning and coordination, media monitoring, governance processes including minute taking, reporting, records management, event coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications and change management activities.
** Note - Recycling Victoria will be transitioning to the EPA on 30 June 2026.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Mandatory:
- High level written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- MS PowerPoint skills.
Desirable:
- Relevant tertiary qualification such as business, communications or information management.
- Demonstrated experience in issues analysis and resolution to inform the preparation of sensitive and confidential correspondence.
- Communications and administrative skills and experience. Attention to detail, excellent writing and organisation skills, advanced level in MS Office suite.
- Experience arranging ministerial events would be highly regarded.
This is a fixed term position until 23 March 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
