Make an impact where spatial data drives real-world decisions. Join our Statewide Strategic Planning team to support strategic planning for Victoria’s public land road network, and contribute to broader forest and fire management planning.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will lead and support analysis that underpins statewide strategic planning, with a key focus on:
- Delivering GIS and spatial modelling to support the road network strategic planning process
- Providing analytical input into broader statewide forest and fire management planning projects
- Translating technical outputs into clear insights for planning, policy and decision-making
- Supporting consistent, integrated strategic planning across regions and programs
What we’re looking for
- Strong GIS / spatial analysis capability (ArcGIS Pro desirable)
- Experience or interest in road network, bushfire risk or forest management planning and spatial analysis
- A collaborative, proactive approach and ability to contribute across multiple priorities
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in science, forestry, natural resource management or equivalent is desirable.
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial analysis and computer modelling skills and experience are mandatory, ArcGIS Pro skills preferred.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is also desirable:

- Road network analysis, bushfire risk analysis, forest management analysis
- Python (programming)
This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
