The Policy Officer supports the Partnerships team in the Partnerships and Supply Chain Branch to contribute to the successful establishment of Offshore Wind in Victoria in a way that delivers benefit to local regional communities and Traditional Owners.

This role assists in the development and implementation of a range of projects and initiatives including the community engagement plan, communications and engagement activities for Offshore Wind Energy Victoria (OWEV).

This key role assists in the consultation and development of policy positions, including a community benefit-sharing policy for offshore wind in Victoria. It supports and undertakes effective stakeholder engagement across government, community and industry and works alongside regional organisations and committees to ensure local communities benefit from these initiatives. 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Familiarity with government processes and operations and experience in the provision of strategic advice to government is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Councils, regional communities, Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal Victorians is highly desirable.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, supported by experience in infrastructure delivery or energy transition, either within government or the private sector is desirable.
  • Understanding of the Victorian and national energy transition landscape as well as regional contexts for offshore wind communities and Traditional Owners is desirable. 

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
