Are you a policy professional ready to do work that genuinely matters? The regulatory policy and tools team within the biodiversity policy branch is looking for a motivated person to join our close-knit team. 

You will build your skills by contributing to and leading aspects of policy advice, working with experienced senior policy staff, and building your professional networks across government.

The regulatory policy and tools team delivers highquality policy advice and maintains the regulatory frameworks that guide wildlife and biodiversity management across Victoria.

Our areas of responsibility are diverse and high profile. Examples of work we deliver are: the Victorian koala management strategy, the kangaroo harvest management plan, protection of threatened species during duck hunting and reform to regulatory policy settings for biodiversity.

We're looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable, and ready to contribute to this exciting policy space.   You will use your policy skills daily to critically evaluate and present evidence, apply systems thinking, work with stakeholders and craft important policy documents.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Experience in undertaking policy analysis and providing policy advice, including knowledge, skills and experience with environmental policy and regulation.
  • An understanding of Victorian Government policy processes is desirable.
  • An understanding of legislative and regulation making processes is desirable.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
