Step into a high-impact leadership role as Permissions Lead; coordinating risk-based permissions across Gippsland region and helping shape the future of permissioning within the Conservation Regulator. You’ll coordinate end-to-end delivery, bring people together across Regional Regulatory Operations and the permissions reform team, and turn complex applications into clear decisions through strong case management and sound assessment. 

A key leadership position within the Regional Regulatory Operations Unit, this position works with the Manager Regulatory Operations and Regulatory Program Manager to deliver effective and efficient regional permissions on a risk basis. Key activities of the position include evaluating permissions to determine assessment needs, ensuring a sound case management approach to permissioning work and supporting a risk-based approach to compliance monitoring.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance
  • A Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period from 1 June 2026 to 15 January 2027. The work location for this position is flexible, Traralgon or Bairnsdale with hybrid work arrangements available.
