The Manager, Resources Development and Investment leads a multidisciplinary team that connects industry and investors through collaboration with government partners to support and grow Victoria’s minerals and energy investment pipeline. This includes oversight of geoscience led promotional content, ground release programs, events and the compilation and analysis of industry data and market intelligence to strengthen understanding of the earth resources ecosystem. 

The Manager works closely with the Victorian Government’s trade, investment and international offices, providing insight, data and sector knowledge to enhance Victoria’s investment attractiveness.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A tertiary qualification in geoscience or equivalent, with a component of independent research (Honours minimum) is mandatory.
  • A current valid Victorian driver’s licence is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated contemporary experience that encompasses investment drivers, challenges, risks and opportunities and government processes, including commercial acumen and understanding of the earth resources sector across the whole exploration and resource development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and developing major investment projects and/or opportunities to stimulate and support exploration and attract resource investment.
  • Advanced conceptual and analytical capabilities with the proven ability to manage, analyse and synthesise scientific and industry data to develop and effectively deliver well considered, practical strategies and evidenced base knowledge products and communications.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
