HCM Technical Specialist

The purpose of the HCM Technical Specialist role is to work closely with product and business owners to determine how the business requirements can best be delivered by the systems. You will coordinate between the DEECA business owners and internal and external service providers to ensure the proposed solutions make use of the most appropriate components of the system and improve any current functionality.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Essential

  • Demonstrated specialist knowledge and hands-on experience supporting complex SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4) Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) environments, including application support, configuration, integrations and operational service delivery.
  • Proven experience leading and coordinating ICT application support services, including incident, problem, change and release management within a large and complex enterprise environment, ensuring service continuity and the timely resolution of issues.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering and supporting system enhancements, upgrades, releases and technical changes across the full solution lifecycle, including testing, validation, defect management and production deployment activities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of enterprise integrations and interfaces, including experience with SAP Cloud Integration (CPI) and the integration of HCM, payroll, finance, time management and related business systems.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, technology teams and managed service providers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with managed service providers and third-party vendors in a multi-supplier environment, coordinating support activities, facilitating issue resolution and contributing to successful service delivery outcomes.
  • Experience providing technical advice and recommendations relating to application strategy, system optimisation, upgrades, integrations, security and service improvement initiatives, with the ability to identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, operational procedures, knowledge articles and support artefacts, together with a sound understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management and release management practices.
  • Experience using IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, preferably ServiceNow, to manage incidents, service requests, problems, changes and operational reporting.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant SAP certification in SAP HCM Payroll and/or SAP SuccessFactors modules would be highly regarded.

Desirable

  • Experience implementing or supporting SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
  • Experience supporting payroll and workforce management integrations, including Cross-Application Time Sheets (CATS) integration with SAP HCM for S/4HANA Payroll.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (v3 or v4).
  • Experience supporting payroll systems within a large, complex or government environment.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements available.
