The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Contracts Administration Officer to provide coordination and administrative support for commercial, contract management and supplier performance activities across the Bushfire and Forest Services Group.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team that supports Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) and broader emergency management operations across Victoria. You will help ensure contract documentation, records and governance processes are maintained accurately and consistently, supporting effective supplier management and value-for-money outcomes.

As a Contracts Administration Officer, you will play an important role in maintaining contract records, tracking key milestones, supporting supplier performance activities and providing responsive support to internal stakeholders. Your work will help ensure contracts are administered effectively and continue to support operational readiness and service delivery.

About the role

You will bring:

  • experience providing administrative support in a contracts, procurement, commercial or business environment
  • strong organisational skills with the ability to manage documentation, records and competing priorities accurately and efficiently
  • experience maintaining registers, databases and business records with a high degree of accuracy
  • experience using Oracle systems, including purchasing and accounts payable functions
  • an understanding of contract administration principles and governance processes
  • exposure to Victorian Government procurement frameworks and contract management practices
  • strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide responsive customer service
  • experience coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, taking minutes and tracking actions
  • sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support reporting and data management activities
  • a commitment to continuous improvement, teamwork and service excellence
  • a Certificate IV or Diploma in business administration, procurement, contract management or a related discipline (desirable), or equivalent relevant experience
  • a current driver's licence and willingness to travel within Victoria as required
  • a forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one if required.
