The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Commercial and Contracts Officer to support the effective administration of commercial, contract management and supplier performance activities across Bushfire and Forest Services.
This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team responsible for supporting commercial arrangements that underpin Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVic) and broader emergency management operations. You will work closely with suppliers, procurement specialists, operational teams and stakeholders to ensure contracts are well managed, compliant and continue to deliver value for money.
As a Commercial and Contracts Officer, you will play an important role in contract administration, supplier performance monitoring, governance reporting and stakeholder engagement. You will help maintain strong commercial practices that support operational readiness, service delivery and continuous improvement across the Branch.
About the role
You will bring:
- experience managing contracts, working with suppliers and supporting procurement activities within a complex operational environment
- a strong understanding of contract administration, supplier performance management and contract lifecycle activities
- experience working within Victorian Government procurement and contract management frameworks
- the ability to maintain accurate contract records, registers and supporting documentation
- strong organisational skills with the ability to monitor contract milestones, deliverables, renewal dates and governance requirements
- experience preparing reports, maintaining spreadsheets and analysing contract expenditure and performance information
- strong stakeholder relationship skills with the ability to provide responsive and customer-focused support
- a commitment to continuous improvement, compliance and quality outcomes
- a Certificate IV or Diploma in business administration, procurement, contract management or a related discipline (desirable), or equivalent relevant experience
- a current driver's licence and willingness to travel within Victoria as required
- a forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one if required.
