The successful implementation of the Class 2 Controller (C2C) program requires a coordinated, multi-faceted approach. The Capability Planning and Implementation Lead - Class 2 Program will lead a team of subject matter experts to drive the development and delivery of a refreshed C2C program, including redesigning the training curriculum with hazard-specific modules and practical deployment scenarios, establishing a formal mentoring framework, and developing onboarding resources such as checklists and guides. The position will oversee the recruitment and support of suitable candidates, facilitate a Community of Practice to build leadership and strategic capability, and ensure robust governance and communication protocols are in place. Collaboration with all DEECA Groups and key stakeholders, including other Victorian Class 2 Control Agencies is essential.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Demonstrated high level understanding and experience in emergency management, preferable with a strong knowledge of emergency preparedness and response arrangements in Victoria. Experience leading programs and projects to manage capability.
- Current accreditation to fulfil a senior EM role or ability and willingness to work towards such accreditation.
- Tertiary qualification in emergency management, public policy or related field would be advantageous.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne – flexible with hybrid work arrangements available.
