The Business Analyst will support the project lead in the delivery of projects within the Digital Program in accordance with DEECA’s ICT project delivery standards. This includes delivery of DEECA’s digital solutions such as customer-facing platforms, and other ICT initiatives that drive departmental outcomes. 

The Business Analyst will play a key role in the successful delivery of the ICT project by managing and undertaking the required analysis ensuring a consistent focus on the customer’s vision.

Key to the success of this role is excellent consultancy & stakeholder management skills, a consistent focus on the customer/ end user’s vision and a holistic understanding of how to deliver business outcomes. The ability to examine in detail and understand business needs, propose practical solutions to problems and use appropriate, fit for purpose methods to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.

 

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Formal qualifications in business analysis are desirable
  • Significant ICT project delivery experience is desirable, preferably more than 8 years
  • Formal qualifications in organisation change management will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience working with a variety of project delivery methodologies, such as Agile, Iterative and Waterfall will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience working on business analysis activities for xxx technology implementation will be highly regarded
  • Consultancy: Assists customers to clarify their business problem and needs. Clarifies expectations of the project’s scope, roles, and outcomes. Responds flexibly to the customer’s changing business Environment and needs. Develops practical & fit-for-purpose solutions to complex problems. Provides expert advice to customers on ICT Project Delivery. Liaises regularly with customers to manage expectations and service satisfaction.
  • Business Analysis: Takes responsibility for investigative work to determine business requirements and specify effective business process, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures and organisational change. Contributes to delivery of business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through new or changed processes, and associated business risks. Identifies stakeholders, their business needs and impact of changes delivered by ICT projects.
  • Assesses the business impacts of the proposed change, taking into consideration the business and technical impacts and any business activities required to integrate new processes or jobs into the "business as usual" environment. Assists the user community through the transition period and liaises with the project team and stakeholders for change planning activities.

 

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is Melbourne CBD with hybrid work arrangements available.
